Despite the lack of sugary treats at home, Joanne eventually noshed on pastries at friends’ houses, and then went on to start baking and selling cookies out of her home kitchen as an adult. This small business grew into Flour Bakery + Cafe, which now boasts a handful of locations around the Boston area—including a shop at the Hynes Convention Center that just opened three months ago.
Like its sister locations, Flour Bakery + Cafe on Dalton Street dishes out house-made sweets, specialty breakfast items, and fresh sandwiches and salads for lunch.
