As St. Patrick’s Day quickly approaches, this is a great time to dive into the Irish culture. Whether it’s food or Boston’s Irish heritage, there’s plenty of ways to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Back Bay. Enjoy the day with these three tips. 

Walk The Irish Heritage Trail

Boston is rich with Irish heritage, so much so that there’s a self-guided tour you can take. Walk along the Irish Heritage Trail and explore roughly 300 years of Boston’s Irish experience.

In the Back Bay and Downtown Boston area you can experience 20 different stops along the trail that include backgrounds and histories on important people and buildings with Irish heritage. Examples include Fenway Park, the John S. Copley statue, Boston City Hall and the Boston Public Library. 

Eat At An Irish Restaurant 

What better way to learn about a culture than through food. Some dishes that come to mind are Shepherd’s Pie, Corned Beef & Cabbage, and Irish Stew. There are plenty of great Irish pubs and restaurants to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Back Bay.

Try out Sólás Irish Pub, roughly five minutes from 30 Dalton, for a proper pint and a cozy meal. For live music and a traditional Irish meal, head to The Bebop just a five minute walk from 30 Dalton. Maybe you walk to Lir for a full Irish Breakfast and a long list of other delicious dishes and cocktails.

There are plenty of ways to experience Irish cuisine in Back Bay.

Drink Irish Beer

Guinness is a well known Irish beer around the world, but that’s not the only beer to drink for St. Patrick’s Day in Back Bay. You’ll be able to find a wide variety of Irish made or inspired beers in your backyard.

Local Boston brewery, Harpoon Brewery makes a Boston Irish Stout as well as an Irish Red IPA. Maybe you go with a Smithwick’s or O’Hara, other Irish brewed beers. Give these Irish style beers a try if you’re looking to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Back Bay.
