READ MOREWant to work up an appetite before sitting down for your Thanksgiving feast? Consider signing up to run the Boston Volvo Thanksgiving Day 5K on November 28. The race begins at 9 am on North Beacon Street, and everyone is welcome: competitive runners, casual joggers, walkers, family, pets, and friends (the race route is fully wheelchair accessible, too). Registrants will receive a commemorative t-shirt, and all finishers will take home an official Finisher’s Medal. Want to sweeten the deal? Raise $100 for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and qualify to win a prize.
Want to support the race without registering as a runner? No problem. There’s plenty of room on the sidelines to cheer, and the race planners need volunteers to help out with everything from handing out t-shirts, to marking the route, to staffing the hydration stations. Head to the website for volunteer sign-ups, full race details, fundraising tips, and online registration.
