Top Summer Festivals To Attend This July Near 30 Dalton

Summertime near 30 Dalton means parades, sand sculptures, and scrumptious foods. Basically, festival season is here, it’s beautiful outside, and winter is a chilly and distant memory. It’s the very best time to get out and about in the Boston area. For seasonal fun, our area has plenty of events for the entire family to love. To celebrate the vibrancy of our city, here are the Top Summer Festivals To Attend This July Near 30 Dalton: 

Cambridge Jazz Festival

July 30-31

Danehy Park

Nothing beats free jazz. Witness the unique American art form — all without purchasing tickets — the final weekend of the month! Founded by various city councilors, the volunteer organization will showcase exceptional live performances and provide scholarships for young musicians in Cambridge. 

The 7th annual event features headliners Chelsea Green & The Green Project and Eguie Castrillo.   

Revere Beach Sand Sculpting Festival 

July 22-24

Revere

Anything can be created… even if its from something as small as a grain of sand. This gathering, across the shore of Revere Beach, is one of the largest sand sculpting festivals in the world. Master sand sculptors migrate here from all over the world, to compete for awarded prizes. This year’s theme is the “Wonders of the World” and will feature creations, food trucks, and cuisines from numerous countries. Opening night will be celebrated by a magnificent firework display. 

Prior to the pandemic, the even drew over one million attendees and has showcased artists’ creativity for the past 17 years. 

Puerto Rican Festival 

July 29-31

Playstead Park

Regarded as one of the best Puerto Rican festivals in the world, our local celebration has the support of the Boston Red Sox. Ticket holders that go to Fenway the week of the fest will get a Boston replica jersey in Puerto Rican colors, including a tease of the festival, including live music. 

An estimated 90,000+ will participate over the three day celebration, including traditional displays, local arts and crafts, and more happenings for the entire family to enjoy. 

Yankee Homecoming in Newburyport

Newburyport 

Created by artist Jack Frost in 1956, this festival’s theme was established to celebrate a “National Family Reunion” for settlers who originally emigrated west. Newburyport was one of 29 cities to participate in the inaugural festival. 

Now a week-long event, Yankee Homecoming includes a parade, fireworks, live tunes, and vendors. Honoring its 66th year, the celebration has had 10 months of planning incorporated into the festivities, as compared to the two month shortened prep time of last year.

Harvard Square Open Market 

Every Saturday through October 30th, Boston’s newest tradition highlights the work of over 45 artisans, designers, and vintage vendors from across the New England area. The foot traffic has consistently been heavy. After all, 8 million visitors stroll through Harvard Square each year. 

Visitors can discover unique and rare items at the festival, designed to mimic a European style street fair environment. The market takes place on Church Street, between Massachusetts Ave and Brattle Street.
